Portrait Studies

I’m not an artist who likes to copy portraits of famous people, however I broke my own rule here given I find Adam’s photography so inspiring.

It was the portraits by Edward Curtis that sparked my interest in our Native American Indians. Such an amazing culture. So much to learn about them.

The first charcoal study I did in over 20+ years. A study that I did after being fortunate enough to take a one-day workshop with Zin Lim. Even more so, I credit the time I have spent learning the figure over the last 5 years with Charles Young Walls, my mentor who continues to teach me how to see.
